The Book of Revelation is one of the most misunderstood books of the Bible. It’s not about date setting or trying to identify current events, rather it illustrates the judgments brought on by humanity’s disobedience to God’s laws and His great mercy and love for us in spite of our rebellion. The paradox of Jesus as Lord of History and the Lamb who was slain; the letters to the Seven Churches; the seals, trumpets, and bowl judgments; the Father’s great love and His chastisement; the Woman, the Beast, and the host of heaven: these concepts found their fulfillment in John’s own time, but also are fulfilled in our time and look to the End for final realization.
